Gorgeous Refinished Art Deco highboy dresser, decoupaged drawers, brass knobs!
A stunning example of artisan furniture refinishing, this antique highboy dresser has been thoughtfully transformed into a dramatic, collector-worthy statement piece. The case is painted in Behr’s Cracked Pepper — a moody, complex slate gray-blue that shifts beautifully in natural light — finished matte for an understated, sophisticated look.
Hand-applied gold accent detailing traces the routed panel lines of the lower drawers, honoring the piece’s original period craftsmanship while giving it an elevated, jewel-box quality.
The upper three drawer fronts feature Redesign with Prima premium decoupage paper — a botanical rose print layered with vintage cartographic undertones. Prima is widely regarded as the gold standard in furniture decoupage, and the result here shows why. Each drawer face is entirely unique, creating a gallery-like effect across the top half of the piece. Antique brass floral knobs complete the look throughout.
Structurally sound with smooth-operating drawers. The arched bonnet top, carved central medallion, and elegantly turned front legs speak to the quality of the original construction. This piece was stripped, sanded, and fully repainted from the ground up — nothing was rushed.
